Instagram Launches IGTV for Creators
Instagram might be dominating all aspects of social media.
Instagram announced a new app, IGTV that will be launching June 21st. The app is a mobile TV platform, taking elements of different existing applications such as Snapchat and YouTube.
Instagram will be featuring an IGTV section, allowing creators to upload content up to an hour specifically on the app.
Basically, if Instagram successfully converts Instagram-users and content creators to post over to IGTV, people speculate that YouTube may be losing out.
In addition, there has been long-time concern about the changes and commercialization of YouTube.
Confirmed channels and people at the IGTV launch include the likes of Selena Gomez, Lele Pons, and Kevin Hart.
IGTV allows anyone to be a creator, however. People will soon be able to upload vertical videos. It will be available on Android and iOS.
