Peyton List Talks New Projects and Aging as an Actor
Peyton List feels like she’s “ retired when it comes to TV,” but the 20-year-old’s acting career has only just begun.
Sitting down for an interview with fashion magazine, Schön!, List talks about future projects and growing as an actor with her fans.
The Disney starlet, most notable for her performance as Emma Ross on Disney Channel’s Jessie and Bunk’d, has been acting since she was 12-years-old.
“From 12 to 20, you change so so much. I feel like I [have] definitely matured,” said List. “On my hiatuses, I also worked on a lot of cool movies and projects, so I’ve grown outside of there as well.”
With her Disney career coming to a close, The Swap star is eager to venture into new acting territory. “I’m just kind of picking the right projects now, after being done with Disney. Now I’m like ‘what do I want to do? What do I what this to look like as I go forward?’ It is a really exciting time for me.”
Her latest roles in Departures and Anthem show her acting abilities extend past the teenybopper she plays on TV.
When discussing Anthem, a film whose cast includes her twin brother, Spencer, and boyfriend, Cameron Monaghan, List said, “Fans who were younger and watched Jessie when it first came out, I feel like they have kind of grown up with me so I feel [this is] the sort of movie that fits the age everyone is now.”
Departures and Anthem are in theaters later this year.
