Bella Hadid Sets the Record Straight About New Drake Lyrics
Drizzy fans were quick to jump to conclusions about which ladies the Canadian rapper referenced on his new album, but you can’t believe every speculation.
At midnight on Friday, June 29th, Drake’s latest and hotly anticipated album Scorpion dropped. Soon enough, the internet was abuzz with conspiracies that his track “Finesse” was all about Bella Hadid.

Certain suggestive lines include, “Should I do New York? I can’t decide / Fashion week is more your thing than mine,” which listeners then associated with the youngest Hadid sister, given her career as a supermodel who frequents New York Fashion Week. Later in the song, Drake croons, “You and your sister / Too hot to handle.” Supplemented by a line from “Sandra’s Rose” in which he raps, “My house is full of supermodels just like Mohamed Hadid,” internet analysts drew the conclusion that he must be referring to Bella and her older sister Gigi (both of whom are Mohamed’s daughters).
While rumors of a romance between the 31-year-old hip hop sensation and Hadid did surface last October when he threw her a huge 21st birthday bash, the two were never an item. Shortly thereafter, Andy Cohen questioned Bella’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, about the potential relationship, to which she replied that they were “just friends.”
It looks like we all should’ve listened to Mama Hadid after all. Bella shut this theory down when she responded to a Twitter user who remarked that the song was “probably” about her because “who hasn’t [Drake] banged.”
Not me!!!🤷🏻♀️that’s disrespectful. WHY CANT PPL BE FRIENDS W/o all the insinuation 🤭🧐😩🤬
