The New ‘Hocus Pocus’ Book Will Include a New Generation That Features Queer Characters
Halloween is right around the corner so it is the perfect time to talk about Hocus Pocus‘ upcoming YA novel, Hocus Pocus and The All-New Sequel.
One reason why the YA sequel is so exciting (there are many reasons) is that there are whisperings that movie sequel could be based on the novel. The All-New Sequel has another very notable reason to be excited. It will include two queer characters named Poppy and Isabella.
Here is what to expect from the book: the first part will focus on the events of the original Hocus Pocus movie. The second part is all new content to the story. It will tell the story of three teens, Poppy, Isabella, and Travis, that try to take the Sanderson sisters after their return from the dead.
Poppy is the 17-year-old daughter of Max and Allison, the young couple from the original movie. Poppy falls from Isabella after they get to know each other over learning about the Sanderson sisters. Honestly, the crush is adorable. But you’ll have to read the book to see if they end up together. Hocus Pocus and The All-New Sequel debuted on July 10, so you have plenty of time to read it before Halloween.
