Shonda Rhimes Netflix Takeover
Shonda Rhimes has eight new shows coming to Netflix.
Last August, Rhimes signed a nine-figure deal with Netflix to produce eight series. The shows will be unlike the popular series viewers are familiar with such as Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away With Murder. The list is as follows:
- A show about a fashionable New York socialite named Anna Delvey, who scams her way into a lavish lifestyle and ends up in Rikers Island.
- A take on the Bridgerton Series, about eight siblings set in the 1800s.
- Based on Reset, a book by Ellen Pao about sexism in Silicon Valley.
- Pico & Sepulveda, a series about the Mexican lifestyle in California during the 1840s.
- An adaption of the popular book, The Warmth of Other Suns, about the northern migration African Americans from the racist South to the North and the West.
- A show about the private lives of U.S. presidents, their family, and the staff based on the book, The Residence.
- Sunshine Scouts, about teenaged girls who are stuck at the end of the word.
- And lastly a documentary on Debbie Allen reimagining the ballet The Nutcracker, Hot Chocolate Nutcracker.
