Jennifer Lopez to Receive MTV’s 2018 VMA Vanguard Award
Jennifer Lopez has been on a hot streak this past year, so it is no wonder that she will receive the 2018 MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
Along with dropping hits like “Dinero,” starring in an upcoming comedy (Second Act), and being a judge on World of Dance, she will now be taking home the Vanguard award. Lopez will also be performing, so you know it is going to be big. It actually marks the first time she has performed at the VMAs since her epic performance in 2001.
She is also up for two awards this year, one for Best Collaboration for “Dinero” (featuring DJ Khaled and Cardi B), and one for Best Latin Song for the same song.
Lopez has racked up a total of 21 nominations and two awards at the VMAs.
Past Vanguard winners have included Kanye West, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and last year’s winner Pink.
Other nominees this year include Beyoncé and Jay Z (for eight awards), Childish Gambino, Drake, Camila Cabello, and Ariana Grande. You can watch Lopez receive the Vanguard award on MTV August 20.
