‘Riverdale’ Season 3 Will Include a Flashback Episode
It looks like we will get to see more about the lives of the Riverdale parents in a flashback episode in the upcoming season.
The show’s creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, spilled the beans while on a Television Critics Association panel. He revealed that the episode will be called “The Midnight Club,” a play off of the popular 80s movie, The Breakfast Club — a movie that Archie’s mom, Molly Ringwald starred in.

The flashback will focus on Fred Andrews (Archie’s dad), Alice Cooper (Betty’s mom), Hermoine Lodge (Veronica’s mom), and FP Jones (Jughead’s dad). What is really interesting about this is that the Riverdale teens will actually play their parents.
At the panel, Aguirre-Sacasa explained that “We’re going to learn about a really, really dark secret in Riverdale that the parents have been keeping since they were in high school.” And if you have watched any of season two, then you know a flashback episode focusing on the parents is not only very exciting but also necessary.
We’ll see the Riverdale teens step into their parents’ shows once the season 3 debuts on The CW October 10.
