Lucy Hale’s Emotional Reunion
As St. Jude’s September Celebrity Ambassador for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Lucy Hale got a surprise that she had only hoped for.
In her quest to help end childhood cancer, the Life Sentence star, whose character had to learn how to navigate life after beating terminal cancer, visited St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The Children’s Research Hospital is located in Hale’s hometown, Memphis, Tennessee, and holds “a special place in [her] heart.”

“Everything about this hospital—the research advancements that are freely shared around the world, the incomparable treatment and care, the emphasis it places on the entire family—gives hope to those going through the toughest time of their lives,” Hale said. “It is an incredible honor to be a part of such a mission.”
Speaking about Bailey, an 11-year-old girl whom Hale had met four years earlier, “I would love to see her,” Hale revealed.
Much to her delight, Bailey, a testament to St. Jude’s work, was there to surprise her.
On the verge of tears, Hale was overjoyed by the reunion.
Continuing her support of St. Jude, Lucy will be taking part in a St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer.
With Walk/Run events in 65 communities, you can join Hale and the thousands of other participants in the fight to end childhood cancer.
