Cole Sprouse Roasts Co-Stars After Teen Choice Awards Win
The Riverdale star was proclaimed “Choice Male Hottie,” but not without some playful controversy.
Cole Sprouse has certainly come a long way from his days of playing the nerdier half of the Martin twins on Disney Channel’s The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. While the competition for the “hottie” award was steep, including the likes of Shawn Mendes, Chris Hemsworth, Chadwick Boseman, Grant Gustin, and Zac Efron, Sprouse officially deemed the favored pick.
Of course, the 26-year-old lifelong actor is all the more swoon-worthy for his impeccable sense of humor, which he was sure to implement on Twitter in reaction to his win. “It’s been a long time coming. I’ve worked since I was in diapers, studied hard, went to university, and I may have almost broken a couple times but I finally did it. I am: choice male hottie,” his sardonic post read.

Sprouse’s co-star KJ Apa couldn’t help but join in on the joke and simultaneously throw some light-hearted shade, posting an Instagram of the two with the caption, “So glad I got to know you before you became teen choice hottie. I know how hard you’ve worked for this bro 👊🏻👊🏻 proud of you!! Don’t change!!”
When another Riverdale co-star, Charles Melton, commented, “I still can’t believe it. How many…. how did HE win teen choice male hottie?!” and KJ commented himself, “I should have won that f*cking award,” Cole fired back, “If I beat Chris Hemsworth then you two are child’s play @kjapa @melton . Call me thanos.” Boom!
