Tessa Thompson to Star in Live-Action ‘Lady and the Tramp’
Tessa Thompson could be lending her voice in Disney’s live-action reboot, Lady and the Tramp.
The Sorry to Bother You star is reportedly in the talks to voice the lead role of Lady, according to Collider.
Disney will be taking their 1955 animated classic and turning it into a live-action (with some CGI help) story. The original story focuses on Lady, a female American cocker spaniel, who lives a prim and proper life with her upper-class owners, as well as Tramp, a male scrappy stray. They meet, go on a stray dog adventure, adorably eat spaghetti together, and fall in love. But things aren’t always perfect living the stray life for a dog.
Justin Theroux will be voicing Tramp, so he may be nibbling on a noodle with Thompson soon. Joining the dog gang is Kiersey Clemons (playing Lady’s owner), Ashley Jensen (playing Scottish Terrier Jackie), and Benedict Wong from Doctor Strange (playing English bulldog Bull).
You won’t be able to find this movie hitting theaters. Instead, the live-action reboot will appear on Disney’s upcoming streaming service sometime in 2019.
