Jennifer Hudson Pays Tribute to Aretha Franklin
The famous singer took to Instagram to pay tribute to the queen of soul, Aretha Franklin.
On Thursday, August 18th, 17 time Grammy winner and civil rights activist, Aretha Franklin passed away in her hometown of Detriot, Michigan. She had been battling pancreatic cancer since 2010. Upon the news, many celebrities and fans took to social media to mourn the loss of the R&B legend.

Among them was Jennifer Hudson. Hudson is set to play Franklin in an upcoming biopic. Upon news of the singers passing, Hudson shared a touching tribute on Instagram.
Aretha Franklin chose the American Idol alum to play herself in the untitled film project. There is currently no date of release, but the film is in development.
Franklin was 76 years old when she passed.
