Paramount Drops ‘What Men Want’ Trailer Starring Taraji P. Henson & Tracy Morgan
The first trailer for What Men Want, starring Taraji P. Henson, is out now.
What Men Want is a modern, gender-swapped adaptation of the 2000 film What Women Want, which originally starred Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt. Taraji P. Henson (Empire, Hidden Figures, Proud Mary) and Tracy Morgan (30 Rock) star in the film and are joined by an ensemble which includes Wendi McLendon-Covey (Bridesmaids), Max Greenfield (New Girl), and Aldis Hodge (Hidden Figures, Straight Outta Compton).
In this renovated adaptation of the original film, Taraji P. Henson plays Ali Davis, a woman who works as a proficient sports agent — a profession which is occupied mainly by men.
Ali struggles in her predominated male workspace and is treated with disrespect by both her male co-workers and male colleagues, frustrated to no end at their dismissal towards her. That is, until one night when she mysteriously gained the ability to read the minds of men after drinking a strange tea concocted by a psychic. Seeing this newfound ability as a gift, Ali strives to utilize her mindreading skills to her advantage and advance towards the quality of life that was denied to her because of her status as a woman.

The day that the trailer was posted, Henson shared her excitement on the film and posted a preview of the movie trailer onto her Instagram: “Woooooohooooooo!!! I can NOT wait for y’all to see this!!! We had too much fun! 💃🏽💋💋” Hilarity ensued on Twitter when Morgan retweeted the movie trailer from What Men Want‘s official Twitter account and wrote “(Clears throat) don’t forget about your boy!”, after the initial tweet had forgotten to mention Morgan as one of the stars of the film.

What Men Want will be released in theaters next year on January 11th, 2019.
