Women of Arrowverse Create Shethority to Empower Women & Non-Binary People

The women of the DCTV’s and the CW’s Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and Black Lightning band together to create a place that uplifts women and lets them freely express their stories to inspire others.

It’s difficult to be a woman in this world, it’s even harder if you’re a woman of color, transgender, part of the LGBTQIA community, or a woman with a disability — especially in this tumultuous political climate. Imagine if you had to struggle in this world daily because of these factors without a support system to lean back on or communicate with. The women of DCTV hope to change that through their online platform, Shethority.

Their mission? To “[provide] a positive space for women (cis women, trans women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people who are significantly female-identified) to discuss the unique challenges of the female experience in today’s world. Through sharing our journeys, challenges, triumphs, and inspirations, we are building a community that challenges ourselves, empowers each other, and reclaims the female experience.” as stated according to the Shethority website.

Already there has been an outpouring of followers sharing their stories through Shethority’s social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram in the time the movement had been established.

The women of the Arrowverse have also shared their own experiences and published them onto the Shethority website. Caity Lotz, who plays Sara Lance in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and Candice Patton, who plays Iris West-Allen in The Flash, recently published an interview of themselves discussing racism.

You can share your own personal experiences and submit them through the Shethority website. You can also follow Shethority through social media platforms on Twitter and Instagram.
