Why You Should Be Watching HBO’s ‘Insecure’

If you haven’t already, you need to see this show. Insecure is back with season 3, the show that is co-created, written and executively produced by Issa Rae. Yes, this woman does it all and she is the lead star of the show.

Issa battles a tough breakup with her long-term boyfriend Lawrence. Issa, who has been out of the dating game for quite some time now suddenly finds herself navigating the true hardships of the tinder dating world. Being single in LA isn’t all that it’s worked up to be, but Issa has her best friend Molly who always holds her down. Season 3 you will expect to see more of a financial situation when Issa has to come up with a significant rent increase in an up and coming gentrified neighborhood. Issa takes to driving Lyft to save a few more coins so that she can eventually move into her own apartment.

This show is no fairy tale, Issa gives you her good days and bad days and it makes this show so much more real and relatable to watch. Issa Rae is so unapologetically awkward and she understands what it is to struggle and hustle in a real life.
