Emma Watson In Talks to Participate in ‘Little Women’ Remake

Emma Watson is currently in negotiations to join the cast of Greta Gerwig’s film adaptation of Little Women after Emma Stone had decided to step out of the project.

Stone will no longer partake in negotiations for involvement in the production of Little Women due to scheduling conflicts.


Stars that are also in negotiations to join the cast of Little Women include Meryl Streep, Laura Dern, Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, and Florence Pugh.

The latest adaptation of Little Women would be taken under Columbia Pictures, owned by Sony Pictures. Gerwig is most notably known for directorial work on the 2017 comedy-drama film Lady Bird which earned Gerwig a Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and two Oscar nominations for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.


Little Women by Louisa May Alcott is a literary American classic that was published in the late 1800s. The book portrays the stories and livelihoods of four sisters of the March family: Amy, Beth, Jo, and Meg.

Watson was most recently seen in the 2017 film The Circle with Tom Hanks.
