Mel B Opens up About Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Mel B has publicly announced her decision to enter a rehabilitation center in order to treat her diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder.
The former Spice Girl opened up to The Sun on Sunday about her recent struggles with the diagnosis, caused by a previous abusive relationship. The singer has exposed this relationship in the past, but after crafting her upcoming tell-all memoir, Brutally Honest, reliving the emotional trauma has led her to engage in unhealthy coping behaviors.
Mel’s raw honesty and decision to put her mental health first has been an inspiration.
The current America’s Got Talent judge even posted a link via Twitter, allowing her following to gain more information on the illness, and spread awareness.
