Alessia Cara Discusses Cover Imagery For ‘Growing Pains’

The “Growing Pains” singer took to Instagram to share the symbolism behind her popular single.

It has been three years since Alessia Cara released the self-written album Know It All. Finally, we have some new awesome singles “Growing Pains” and “A Little More”, these are the first two songs from her new upcoming album.

Since turning 22 in July, Cara sings about the trials of growing up. On Instagram, she shared the imagery behind the cover art.

suit symbolism: the oversized suit visually represents the idea of growing up too fast, or trying to fit ourselves into roles that can feel too large to handle. we aren’t always prepared for life when it runs towards us full speed. sometimes it feels like we’re drowning in it a little, sometimes it’s mundane and stagnant. that’s what the suit is. I know some of you were wondering and I felt I should answer. I truly hope you enjoy the new world I’ve been working on for you 🌻

She talks about the suit and how we aren’t always prepared for what life throws at us. She mentions a “new world” that she has been working on. We can all expect some more great songs off of this new album because Cara has clearly been hard at work.  The musician dropped the song back in June, and her newest single on her birthday. In honor of “Growing Pains” recent success, Cara also shared a remix bundle of the song on Twitter.
