Five YouTubers Who Started On Vine
Thank you for your service, Vine.
When Vine announced it was shutting down January 2017, a piece of our hearts died too. Being one of the most popular apps our phones have ever held, its six-second videos were the reason we stayed scrolling so long at night.
Just when we began to lose hope of seeing our favorite viners new posts, they quickly turned to YouTube and for that, we say thank you. Here are five vine veterans you may or may not know are just as funny on YouTube.
1. Cody Ko
Posting his first vine in 2013, Cody Ko racked up near 2.7 million followers on the app. Now on YouTube, he does have less sitting at 1.3 million but he’s still just as funny. His channel is filled with everything from parodies to reaction videos.
2. Liza Koshy
Liza first joined vine in 2013 when she was still a high school student. Hitting over 4 million followers, she also took her jokes to YouTube and has since gained over 15 million followers to date. You can find vlogs and a lot of crazy shenanigans in her uploads.
3. Danny Gonzalez
Hitting over 2.8 million Vine followers, Danny has been posting since the app first hit its peak. Now sitting in YouTube, he makes videos picking at himself or reminiscing on the good ol’ Vine days, but then again, aren’t we all?
4. Lauren Giraldo
Lauren was a true gem of the six-second masterpieces. From 2013 to 2018, she’s stretched from comedy to music. Going from 3.1 million Vine followers to almost 400,000 YouTube subscribers, Lauren is creating a new way to wow the internet.
5. David Dobrik
David’s peak of existence lies in his YouTube channel with an increase from 1 million Vine followers to over 8 million YouTube subscribers. Doing everything from pranks on his friends to every day vlogging, David will have you crying laughter.
While we all can agree Vine is dearly missed we can also say thank you for the quality content in these veterans videos. If you haven’t checked on your favorite Viners in a bit, we suggest you do. If you haven’t subscribed to these channels, we suggest you do that too. Happy binge watching!
