Celebs, Activists and Influencers Speak up on #WorldSuicidePreventionDay
“It’s easy to forget that two-thirds of gun deaths aren’t high-profile homicides, but suicides – happening quietly, at a rate of one every 25 minutes,” says Julia Laurie, a reporter at Mother Jones.
With a statistic like that, it is imperative that suicide is discussed at large. #WorldSuicidePreventionDay is doing just that, bringing light to a not so bright subject. This day reminds us all how important it is to pay attention to our loved ones because suicidal thoughts can consume even the most unlikely soul.
Celebrities, politicians and average joe’s all over the world are speaking up against suicide. Gavin Mitchell reminds us of the tragic loss of Robin Williams due to suicide and how even the happiest people can be struggling.

Joe Tracini writes a chilling message to anyone suffering from suicidal thoughts and for those who don’t, how they can understand them.
“I see my suicidal thoughts like Peter Pan’s shadow, Attached, yet entirely capable of letting go, hiding, running away, or taking over. A black outline of me, following me, with the potential of having a life of its own,” the actor writes.
Hello you.
I’ve written this for anyone, like me, that’s living with suicidal thoughts, and to try and make sense of them for anyone that isn’t x#WorldSuicidePreventionDay pic.twitter.com/wzsC2QeYo3— Joe Tracini (@joetracini) September 10, 2018

Nikki Glaser has a light heart when it comes to her struggle with depression. She discusses how to fight depression with a touch of humor.
Today on #WorldSuicidePreventionDay I want to share that Transcendental Meditation has single-handedly treated my depression since January. I’m not saying that it will work for all types of depresh, but it has provided me the same relief Zoloft did for 10 yrs except now I can cum
