Dua Lipa Shows Support for Her Fans After Incident in Shanghai

Dua Lipa released a statement of support on Twitter and Instagram after fans were removed from her concert in Shanghai. It’s unclear whether the fans were removed for standing up and dancing during the show or for waving pride flags in support of the LGBTQ community. Either way, Dua was definitely shaken up and visibly emotional after witnessing the incident occur.

After fans were removed, Dua, in tears, says, “I want us all to dance, I want us all to sing. I want us all to just have a really good time. We’re not here for very much longer — we have only a few more songs. But I would love for these last few songs for us to really, really, really enjoy ourselves. How about that?”
And later, in her statement, she writes, “I will stand by you all for your love and beliefs and I am proud and grateful that you felt safe enough to show your pride at my show. What you did takes a lot of bravery.”
