Kobe Bryant Surprises Patients at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County
NBA superstar Kobe Bryant warmed our hearts when he surprised patients at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
The Lakers retiree dropped in for the surprise visit on Monday, September 14th and brought the cast of his Granity Studios’ kids/family Apple podcast, “The Punies.” For those of you who may be unfamiliar with this podcast, which also happens to be directed by Bryant, it concentrates on a character named Puny Pete who’s nervous to join in on athletic activities because he’s worried he’ll embarrass himself.
CHOC patients had a chance to show @kobebryant their own mamba mentalities when he stopped by today for a visit and a table read of his scripted podcast series “The Punies.” Thank you, Kobe, for visiting today and sharing your new project. Many of the patients had the opportunity to watch a live reading for an upcoming episode of “The Punies.” Bryant also made personal visits to hospital patients who were unable to attend the reading, and there he signed autographs and took photos with their families.
He shared his visit on Twitter saying, “Today I had the opportunity to spend time with some incredible kids at @chocchildrens & do a live table read with the cast of #ThePunies & our very special guest Sydney. Thank you to the amazing staff & inspiring, strong kids I met today — you inspire me to create these stories.”
