A ‘Lilo and Stitch’ Live-Action Remake Is in the Works at Disney
Disney’s newest project is currently in the works. Get ready for your next live-action remake: Lilo and Stitch.
The original animated Disney film, Lilo and Stitch, premiered in 2002, and since then, it’s become an ultimate family favorite. Producers Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, who are currently working on the live-action Aladdin remake, are adding this new live-action/CG hybrid to their list of projects.

The story follows a lonely, Hawaiian girl named Lilo and the bond she forms with an interesting blue alien named Stitch. It grossed a whopping $273 million at the worldwide box office.
This project is just one of the latest in Disney’s successful tactics of bringing its past animated classics to life. Cinderella, The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast and Pete’s Dragon are amongst some of their recent releases, with Dumbo, The Lion King and Aladdin among future live-action films coming your way.
It has not yet been clarified whether Lilo and Stitch will premiere through theatrical release or through Disney’s upcoming streaming service, where Lady and the Tramp and The Sword and the Stone are set to release.
Fans are not sure how to feel about the reboot.
