Janelle Monáe Joins the Cast of Disney’s Live Action ‘Lady and the Tramp’
Janelle Monáe will be lending her voice for the upcoming live-action remake of Disney’s 1955 classic Lady and the Tramp.
The “Make Me Feel” singer had been signed on to play the Pekingese dog Peg, who was originally played by singer and actress Peggy Lee. In the original animated film, Peg is one of the dogs that Lady meets when she’s brought to the pound. Peg is most recognized for singing the tune “He’s a Tramp” in the original animated film, so you can expect to hear Monáe sing the song with her own twist in the film.

The film Lady and the Tramp is about a story about two dogs, a female cocker spaniel named Lady and a male street dog mutt named Tramp, who grow to slowly fall in love with each other despite their contrasting backgrounds.
Both Justin Theroux and Tessa Thompson had been previously announced to be leading the live-action adaptation of the animated classic as the titular characters Tramp and Lady respectively.
The Lady and the Tramp live-action film is expected to be released through Disney’s upcoming untitled streaming service, which is to be released in 2019.
