Selma Blair Bravely Shares Diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis
The Legally Blonde actress reveals that she has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
Selma Blair posted a very heartfelt message on Instagram under a selfie and revealed that she has multiple sclerosis (MS).
According to the National MS Society website, MS is an autoimmune disease when the body’s immune system attacks its own. MS is considered to be ‘unpredictable, and often a disabling disease that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body.’
There is no cure for MS, and the cause is unknown, however, it can be initiated by environmental factors.
The 46-year-old revealed that she was diagnosed in August after Elizabeth Berkley forced her to go see her brother, Dr. Jason Berkley, who found lesions in her MRI.
I was dxd with MS at 30.
I can so relate to how #SelmaBlair feels.
I am grateful to all celebs who share their dx stories.

The actress shared the news under a selfie of her upcoming role in Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi drama, After Life.
“I am disabled. I fall sometimes. I drop things. My memory is foggy,” she wrote.
Selma expressed that she had the MS symptoms for years but never took it seriously because she assumed it was caused by a pinched nerve.
The Cruel Intentions actress closed the post by giving hope to those living with Multiple Sclerosis.
‘I am in the thick of it, but I hope to give some hope to others. And even to myself. I want my life to be full somehow.’
It is very brave that Selma was able to share her diagnosis. We hope it inspires others to have faith.
