Simone Biles Competes at World Gymnastics Championships with Kidney Stones
Not even a medical issue can keep an athlete away from her sport.
Simone Biles already has five Olympic medals, and she’s not slowing down anytime soon. The gymnast competed at the 2018 World Gymnastics Championships this weekend, alongside Team United States.
On Friday night, Biles was forced to miss a practice session for a trip to the emergency room. Although she was diagnosed with a kidney stone, the 21-year old made it clear that no health problem would deter her from participating in the competition.
nothing like a late night ER visit less than 24 hrs before world championships

Biles went on to become the highest overall ranking gymnast at the event, ultimately leading the United States team to the number one spot. Despite the health scare, she was clearly still on her A game.
I actually have not had it removed yet, just got the diagnosis and information about it. We will deal with it after world championships! fingers crossed it stays okay!!! https://t.co/4H0y8sysGa
