Disney Announces Streaming Service Called Disney+

Disney just announced plans for their new streaming service called Disney+, which will launch sometime next year. 

Last year, Disney announced that it would be ending its partnership with Netflix in 2019, and all of their content would be removed from the site. The company announced that their streaming service will be released in late 2019.

CEO Bob Iger announced that Lucasfilm will be developing a new live-action Star Wars series for the platform. The series will follow Rebel spy Cassian Andor prior to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Diego Luna has already been confirmed to reprise the role of Andor.

Disney+ also announced plans for their Marvel Universe. The studio will produce a series based on the God of mischief, Loki, with Tom Hiddleston.

Many other projects are in the works, according to Disney. With new stories in the worlds of Monster’s Inc, High School Musical, and Star Wars.
