Watch James Corden’s Hilarious ‘thank u, next’ Parody
It’s almost as iconic as the original.
Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” music video broke the Internet when it was released last week, becoming the biggest music video debut in YouTube history. So naturally, everyone’s favorite late night show host James Corden had to put his own clever twist on the tune.
Corden’s take on the song, entitled “thank u, jeff,” is a tribute to actor-turned-musician Jeff Goldblum. Goldblum himself appears in the video, which includes a sketch where Corden expresses gratitude for Goldblum’s contributions to the entertainment world.
Jeff Goldblum is best known for his roles as Ian Malcolm in Jurassic Park and David Levinson in Independence Day. In his time away from acting, Goldblum has launched a jazz music project: Jeff Goldblum & the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. The group’s debut album was released last month, recorded live at Capitol Studios in Hollywood.
Jeff Goldblum & the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra also made a guest musical appearance on The Late Late Show, playing their tune “Nostalgia in Times Square.” Check it out:
Out of all the antics James Corden pulls on his show, “thank u, jeff” may just be one of his funniest sketches ever. You can watch the parody featured on The Late Late Show below, and stream “The Capitol Studios Sessions” by clicking here.
