Every year, some of the biggest YouTube stars come together in a video highlighting the platform’s successes throughout the year. This year’s YouTube Rewind is just that, pairing funs trends like the “In My Feelings” challenge with more serious topics such as the rise of mental health awareness on the platform.

This year’s rewind got a special kickoff from Will Smith, who is well established in Hollywood but relatively new to the YouTube scene. The video’s Fortnite-inspired concept allows YouTubers to control their own destiny, and what each of them wishes to appear in the video suddenly becomes part of the production.
