Add These Cult Beauty Retinoids to Your Skincare Routine

Cult Beauty

If you’re new to skincare and have no clue what retinoids do, welcome to the club.

We all have different textures and problem areas, so it’s great to team up and share skincare knowledge. Today’s skincare topic is Retonic Acid.

Before the name scares you away, let’s look at the facts. You may have heard of it before as it normally goes by Retinol, Renityl, or Retin-A. Perscription Retinoids usually go by Retinol Acid-also known as Retin-A, Adaplene, and Tazarotene.

Retinoids are used to tackle acne, aging, and dark spots. Biologically, what you’re skin is actually using is Retonic Acid. It’s a vitamin A derivative that connects to skin cell receptors and tells it to behave like healthy, younger skin cells.

Over the counter retinoids usually go by Retinol, Retinaldehde, and Retinyl Ester. OTC products usually have smaller concetrations. The weaker the retinoic acid form, the longer the conversion takes. That’s why dermatologists recommend you use it year round, as higher concentrations can be irritating for sensitive skin. OTC products range from 0.5% to 2% concentrations.

Cult Beauty is home to a variety of Retinoid products:

  1. Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil – $55.00
  2. Pixi Retinol Tonic – $15.00
