Ellen Pompeo has never been shy about discussing race and has recently made a visit to Red Table Talk, Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook show, to discuss her opinions further.
As one of the highest paid television drama actresses, the Grey’s Anatomy star has an incredible platform to shine a light on the racial issues of today and does not hesitate to do just that.
Ellen sat down with Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith and Adrienne Banfield Norris to discuss everything from what she feels her responsibility is as a white woman in America to her interracial relationship with her husband, Chris Ivery. Pompeo went on to say, “A lot of people get nervous when you bring it up, and I understand why they do. But I’m not afraid… If you’re afraid to talk about it, that’s a problem right there, and you need to talk about it more.”
