Bebe Rexha Asks Fashion Designers to Empower Women of All Sizes
Bebe Rexha is all about making each and every woman feel beautiful regardless of their size.
After the excitement of finding out she was nominated for a Grammy, Bebe Rexha was let down when she reached out to designers to find a gown to wear for the event. The singer expressed her disappointment in an Instagram video on Monday, saying that after she had her team reach out to a few designers to create a gown for her they told her that they were unable to do so because she was “too big” at a size 6 to 8.
In her caption, the singer goes on to say, “Empower women to love their bodies instead of making girls and women feel less than by their size. We are beautiful in any size! Small or large!” Since the video was posted it has been viewed over 800,000 times and the artist has received various offers from designers willing to dress her for the event.
Bebe Rexha is nominated for two Grammy awards, which are Best New Artist and Best Country Duo/ Group Performance for the song “Meant to Be” with Florida Georgia Line. The Grammy’s will air on Sunday, February 10, 2019. Check out all of the nominations for the 61st Grammy’s here, and stay tuned for the premiere.
