Ariana Grande Announces New Collab with 2Chainz

The megastar has really been working hard and keeping everyone on their toes.

She recently released her new single “7 Rings” which has already gone platinum and reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. She’s also announced her second album of the year titled after another hit of hers, Thank U, Next,  all while defending her very cute barbecue grill tattoo against internet trolls. Ariana is not a newbie when it comes to shutting down the haters. When people began criticizing her single ‘7 Rings” due to its popular flow matching a number of artists’ work such as Soulja Boy, Princess Nokia, and 2Chainz, Ariana decided to do what no-one saw coming. On Thursday, Jan. 31st, Ariana announced a collaboration with none other than 2Chainz  himself via her social media platforms.

The collaboration comes in the form of a “7 Rings” remix. This is a major move on both artists’ sides. It ultimately allows both of their fanbases to connect through their music since the single and video release. 2Chainz spoke about the similarities when fans compared the single to his own song, “Spend It” and was very chill about it all.

The remix keeps its original flow and lyrics but 2Chainz really makes a great addition adding the trap flare he’s famous for while still remaining relatable to all audiences. The cover art for the remix is reminiscent of 2Chainz’s famous pink trap house that became a major tourist attraction in Atlanta, Georgia. It has been sold by its original owners but you can visit parts of the pink trap house magic at the Trap Music Museum in Atlanta, curated by another legendary Atlanta rapper, T.I.

With only seven days until her album Thank U, Next releases on February 8th, we’re glad Ariana can put the drama behind her and focus on having fun and making great music. Until the album is released, Thank U, Next is available for pre-order on iTunes. You’ll also have some cute merch to go with the album, as Ariana announced the upcoming release of “7 Rings” printed merchandise which will also be available on February 8th.
