Camila makes history at the 2019 Grammys.

The Never Be the Same singer kicks off the 61st Grammy Award show with her hit Havana. Vibrant colors filled the stage as Camila wanted the set to resemble the streets Havana, Cuba. The artist wore a bright yellow two-piece dress set, while her dancers wore vibrant-flowy dresses to fit the scene as well. Camila is the very first Latina woman to ever open the Grammys.

Not only did her voice, the costumes and set locked us into her performance but her special guests as well. To join her on stage was Ricky Martin, JBalvin and Cuban trumpet legend Arturo Sandoval. During the performance, “Havana” was remixed with Ricky Martin’s quick snippet of his past hit “Pegate” and JBalvin did the same with his summer hit “Mi Gente”. At the end of the performance, they found their way back to the song “Havana”. This was a major deal for the Latin community. Camila used her platform to embrace her roots and those of the other artists.

She may only be 21 but she rocked the Grammy stage with confidence. Camila never fails to disappoint the crowd with songs like “Havana”.

We are excited to hear more music from her and watch her rock another stage!
