Bebe Rexha Looked Stunning in Red, No Thanks to Designers Who Didn’t Want to Dress Her as a Size 8
What a shame for so many people to miss out on an opportunity to dress such a beautiful woman at this year’s 61st Annual Grammy Awards. Not only did she get nominated for Best New Artist, but she did her thing on the runway and more, both for her fans AND her haters. She stunned, reportedly in a deep red Monsoori gown, featuring a plunging neckline and a cascading ruffled tulle skirt.
Boy, did she really show them up. In January, she revealed that designers actually refused to dress her because she was a size 8. In an Instagram post, she criticized how designers should be empowering women of all sizes. Seriously, everyone who refused her is behind in the game, because honey, big is in. She quoted, “We are beautiful any size! Small or large! Anddddd my size 8 ass is still going to the Grammys.”
After she posted that on Instagram, designers flooded her direct message inbox to support her and offer to dress her, including Karl Lagerfeld, Moschino, Christian Siriano, August Getty, and Michael Costello. Getty even commented on her original post, saying, “You are beautiful! Every woman of every size is beautiful! Just let me know when I should start sketching.” Bebe Rexha was here to remind us to celebrate the size of each others’ achievements because that’s the only kind of size that matters.
