A Britney Spears Musical Is Coming to the Broadway Stage

The new musical, titled ‘Once Upon A One More Time’, will be a modern, feminist take on classic fairy tales like Snow White and Cinderella.  

Chicago Theater owner James L. Nederlander announced on Tuesday his theater will hosting a new musical-comedy featuring songs made popular by the one and only Britney Spears. The story will follow a group of princesses who start a royal book club and expand their ideas of femininity with the help of a Feminine Mystique reading fairy godmother.

“I’m so excited to have a musical with my songs — especially one that takes place in such a magical world filled with characters that I grew up on, who I love and adore,” said Spears, who’s been working with Nederlander for the last three years to develop the show. “This is a dream come true for me!”

The play is slated to premiere in Chicago this fall.
