Watch Machine Gun Kelly’s Epic Transformation for His Role as Tommy Lee
The rapper/actor showed fans how much time and effort went into becoming Tommy Lee in the new Netflix biopic The Dirt.
If you binged on Netflix over the weekend, you may have seen the new Mötley Crüe biopic, ‘The Dirt’. The film, based on the 2001 autobiography written by the band and New York Times writer Neil Strauss, was released on March 22nd. Infamous drummer Tommy Lee was portrayed by another tall, tattooed bad boy musician—Machine Gun Kelly. You may not have recognized him after his full transformation into the rock legend.
Machine Gun Kelly posted a behind-the-scenes look at the intense process on Twitter, which includes full body makeup. He also shared that this isn’t even the full process he went through every day during filming. After covering MGK’s own tattoos with layers of makeup, the makeup artists went on to replicate Tommy Lee’s tattoos on top of it. Kelly’s own ink collection actually includes a Tommy Lee wrist tattoo that he got at age 18.
