The Jonas Brothers Have a New Song Out and It’s “Cool”

We are already in love with the song.

The Jonas Brothers gave us life when they dropped “Sucker” earlier this year and made all of our inner teens die when they announced they were getting back together. Now, the band has dropped a new single, “Cool”. The song is better than anything we could have hoped for. It is all about feeling “cool” and having things go your way. It is less upbeat rhythmically than “Sucker” but still makes us feel really great and want to dance in our seats. It also gives nods to many different parts of pop culture, from a shoutout to Post Malone to a reference of Nick’s famous line “Red dress” from “Burnin’ Up” to a nod to Sophie Turner from Game of Thrones. It is a song that makes us feel so happy and, honestly, “cool”. With this song, we feel that we can really conquer anything and that this year has already given us so much to make us feel good. In fact, everyone seems to be enjoying the song just the same as it is now topping the iTunes charts.

Not only did the Jonas Brothers drop the single but they dropped the music video as well. The video was a lot of fun to watch. Because many of the references made in the song are from an older generation (Queen, James Dean, Jane Fonda), the video starts off with the brothers being hired to play at a retirement center. The video, then, switches to the brothers hanging out in an 80s beach town. The video featured a lot of retro clothing styles, including women in neon activewear bodysuits with bright-colored tights and Nick in an oversized double-breasted suit with a chunky chain necklace. There is also a scene where the three brothers are on a boat and it gave us major “Rio” by Duran Duran vibes. The video completely matched the song’s message as it was all about having a good time and was so colorful that we couldn’t help but smile. We can’t wait to see what the Jonas Brothers come up with next.
