iLoveMakonnen and Fall Out Boy Honor Lil Peep in New Music Video

In the music video for new song, “I’ve Been Waiting,” the two music icons honored late artist, Lil Peep.
“Dedicated to all those people that want to feel magic around them. And also to Peep, who inspired this magic.” This is the dedication of the music video iLoveMakonnen and Fall Out Boy released on April 10th. The song itself was originally written by iLoveMakonnen and Lil Peep, an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and model, who unfortunately died in 2017. The collaboration was one left tragically unfinished, but Peep’s artistic friends still pushed on and brought it to life.
Makonnen says that Peep and himself wanted their music to function as escapism from the depression of everyday life. They definitely did that with the fantastical landscape they put together alongside director, Andrew Donoho. The elegant nature, hot air balloons, and surrealist landscapes look like something out of a fairytale.
The song is currently 15 on the Billboard Top 100, and on the day it was released, April 10th, the music video garnered over half a million views. Go watch the video now, and it will surely brighten your day.
