‘Killing Eve’ Has Been Renewed for Season 3
There’s more of Eve and Villanelle in store for us, and we couldn’t be more excited. Following the release of season 2 of Killing Eve, AMC has renewed the drama series for a third season. Writer Suzanne Heathcote will act as the series new lead writer, executive producer, and showrunner. She is taking over for Emerald Fennell who held the position during season 2 and took over for Phoebe Wallbridge who had the same position during season 1. One thing’s for sure, we love that the show has given the position to a female writer every season.
The show, which is based on the Codename Villanelle novellas written by Luke Jennings, will return with the previous cast members. “We love having this show and the brilliant Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer and Fiona Shaw on our networks,” said Sarah Barnett, President, Entertainment Networks for AMC Networks. “Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Emerald Fennell have delivered two addictively entertaining seasons. As we did last year, we’re renewing Killing Eve right out of the gate, now with Suzanne Heathcote as lead writer, as a sign of confidence – we adore this show as much as our fans do. Killing Eve doesn’t do anything in a templated way; we love giving opportunity to three genius women to make their mark.”
Killing Eve has also recently been nominated for a Peabody award in entertainment.
