Jason Momoa Shaves His Beard For a Good Cause
A big step for a big cause.
Our Earth is currently in a crisis as pollution rises more and more each day. Our oceans, particularly, are suffering as plastic is continuing to contaminate it and hurt many species, from whales to turtles to the smallest fish. That’s why Jason Momoa is strongly advocating for recycling. In his most recent YouTube video, he showed us shots of him picking up all the plastic on the beach he was located at and advocated for the use of aluminum, which can be infinitely recycled, instead. However, the surprise came when he began to shave his beard. Jason Momoa’s beard is part of what makes him Jason Momoa. It is part of his being and, in fact, he has not shaved in over 7 years. However, the Game of Thrones and Aquaman actor decided to sacrifice his iconic beard to raise awareness in support of recycling.
We love that actor is using his fame to raise awareness for an important issue, one that directly affects our future. He knew that the thought of him shaving would immediately cause everyone to click on his video and listen to what he has to say. It is such a bold move and we applaud him for it. While it may take us a little while to get used to Jason Momoa without a beard, we love that he decided to do this. We hope that everyone will start using aluminum instead of plastic and start recycling more. Let’s not let the sacrifice of Jason’s beard be for nothing.
