SZA, Travis Scott and The Weeknd Teamed Up to Create a GoT Single
For the Throne, the music of Game of Thrones is coming out soon, and they just released their latest track.
When you think about these three artists, a ballad of Jon Snow, the underdog hero of the Game of Thrones universe, isn’t what you would think of as easy inspiration. However, SZA, Travis Scott and The Weeknd teamed up and dropped “Power is Power,” a story of Jon Snow, and it is fantastic.
Now, this should go without saying, but if you aren’t caught up on the current season STOP HERE. The song is full of spoilers, and if you don’t want it ruined for you then make sure you wait to listen to it until you’re all caught up… Okay! Now that everyone who is currently on GoT is here, let’s break this down a bit.
Essentially, this song is the three artists posting about the ending of the highly-anticipated season eight. They argue about how Jon will rise to take the iron throne, but also about how Cersei Lannister has so much power, and what may come in the end. We discuss Jon’s various roles before he eventually takes power in the North, and in the end, each artist has made a defense of their opinion.
