Directed and co-written by award-winning Ava DuVernay, “When They See Us” is a four-part limited series following the true story of the “Central Park Five”, a group of African American teenagers who were falsely accused of sexual assault on April 19th, 1989.

The trailer that was released for the series shows a glimpse into the “Central Park Five” case. The series will cover a span of 25 years, from the initial accusation in 1989 to the settlement case in New York City in 2014.
“When They See Us” will premiere on Netflix on Friday, May 31st.
