Pharrell Williams’ ‘Something In The Water’ Festival Was A Hit

Instagram

The super producer and Virginia Beach native proved himself to be quite the hometown hero this weekend.

“Something in the Water” was a festival like no other. It was jam-packed with positivity as Virginia locals and out-of-towners came together for a weekend of fun. The festival took place right on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront where festival-goers put their feet in the sand and got a great view of the Atlantic Ocean.

There was tons of activities to take part in throughout the festival. Timberland has a small pop-up shop where attendees could hang out and be educated on Timberland’s efforts to save the environment. Sony put up a separate venue across from the main beach venue that held mini performances from artists such as LEIKELI47.

There were tons of eats as well! Local restaurants came together to provide food for the festival such as popular 757 restaurants “Feather n Fin” and “Seafood City”. There was also an UberEats food truck present that gave away freebies to festival attendees through the UberEats app.

As expected of any music festival, “Something in the Water” brought huge artists to Virginia to show us all a good time. Music artists who call Virginia home came out to show their hometown nothing but love.

These acts include Pusha T, Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Teddy Riley, DRAM,  Chris Brown, and Trey Songz. Other performers included Jhene Aiko, Charlie Wilson, Travis Scott, SZA, Anderson Pack and so many others.

The man of the hour, Pharrell Williams made sure festival goers had memories to last a lifetime during his “Pharrell and Friends” set. To make up for Friday night’s portion of the festival being canceled due to weather conditions, Pharrell brought Snoop Dogg, Diddy, Tyler, the Creator, Usher, and Jay-Z to perform for over 40,000 festival attendees.

Sunday’s portion of “Something in the Water” included a Pop-Up Church. It was open to the public and gave everyone the opportunity to attend the festival without missing church. There were even performances by Tye Tribbett, Mary Mary, and Kirk Franklin.
