In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Taylor Swift reveals the inspiration behind her Reputation album was Game of Thrones.

The ferocious and call-to-battle anthems of her 2017 hit were influenced by the guts and gore of Westeros. Swift told EW she just couldn’t separate her artistry and her fascination with the show.

“So much of my imagination was spent on Game of Thrones,” Swift said. “Look What You Made Me Do’ is literally Arya Stark’s kill list. ‘King of My Heart’ was influenced by Khal Drogo and Daenerys. It’s even got this post-hook of drums — I wanted them to sound like Dothraki drums.”

Her passion for HBO’s hottest show started in 2016. She began binge-watching the show and has become a loyal fan ever since.

“These songs were half based on what I was going through, but seeing them through a Game of Thrones filter,” Swift said, “I just feel so lucky to exist when Game of Thrones is coming out.”

Now that the star has announced these hidden Easter eggs, fans may want to go back listen to the album again, particularly to “Look What You Made Me Do”– (Hint: this may involve a woman with dragons).

Currently, Swift is excitedly waiting for the finale of GoT like many other fans. When asked who her pick for the throne was she listed some of the strong female leads of the show, Daenerys, Arya, and Sansa. However, maybe Swift secretly wishes a seat for herself on the Iron Throne.
