Zoe Saldana is Awarded for Global Humanitarianism
Actress Zoe Saldana and her husband, Marco Perego-Saldana, were presented with the award in recognition of their philanthropic works on behalf of children and girls’ empowerment.
The Saldanas were the honorable recipients of the Jhpiengo Elyse Bila Ouedraogo Visionary Award for Global Humanitarianism last month. Also awarded, were Paramount Pictures’ Wyck Godfrey and Dr. Mary Kerr.
Zoe Saldana is known for playing unique starring roles in blockbuster science fiction movies such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Trek, and Avatar.
Jhpiengo is an international, nonprofit affiliate of Johns Hopkins University. The organization focuses on bringing high-quality healthcare to women and children in low-income and impoverished communities around the world.
