Nike’s Plus Size Mannequin Is a Step Forward for Inclusivity
Nike has brought a plus-size mannequin to one of its flagship stores in London and it is inspiring. It shows their plus-size audience what the clothes look like on someone like them. This is a step towards inclusivity in stores. Plus-size model and Instagram influencer Diana Sirokai showed her support of the mannequin by going to the Nike store and posing with it.
She talks about how plus-size people have the right to go into the gym with their gym clothes on and feel good and comfortable like everybody else. In her post, she talks about how wearing the right outfit to the gym is a confidence booster and how it makes her feel so much better when she is working out. Going to the gym is nerve-racking when you do not feel good in your own skin but buying workout clothes that make you feel more comfortable can help immensely.
Shopping for workout clothes can be difficult, especially if you are plus-sized. Sometimes it feels like nothing is going to look good on you but if you look at something that looks like you it could give you hope. This mannequin also shows that fitness is not just for one body type, it is for everyone. This mannequin is showing that you can love how you look and still want to be fit.
