Steven Spielberg Reveals Cast of the Upcoming ‘West Side Story’ Remake
There are some familiar faces and new ones, too.
The first official cast photo has been revealed for the upcoming remake of West Side Story. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the movie is already gaining media attention. One of the most recognizable faces from the cast photo is Baby Driver lead Ansel Elgort who is playing the role of Tony. Playing Maria is Rachel Zegler, who caught the eye of Spielberg with her performance in Lady Gaga’s Shallow, which went viral. ‘Dance Moms’ star Maddie Ziegler will also have a role in the musical. You may remember her as the lead from Sia’s ‘Chandelier’ music video or from her recent clothing line with Fabletics.
Although it’s hard to successfully pull off remakes, with its talented cast and director, we think this film should be a winner. It is set to release in December 2020.
