Track-List for Beyoncé-Curated ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ Has Been Released
Executively produced by Queen Nala herself, this truly is a gift.
We all know the amount of work Beyoncé puts into her projects, especially after watching her Netflix documentary Homecoming. Given that, we know The Gift will be iconic for sure. The remake of Disney’s The Lion King was definitely the inspiration behind The Gift, as the 14 track album takes on a new sound or as Beyoncé calls it a “new genre”. In an interview with ABC News, Beyoncé calls the album “a love letter to Africa” and we can for sure see that throughout the tracklist.
The Gift features a number of Afrobeats artists including BurnaBoy, Wiz Kid, Tekno, Yemi Alade, Mr.Eazi, Shatta Wale, and Tiwa Savage. This is a key indication that the album will be very different than the original soundtrack. More upbeat, more bounce, more energy.

The album also features American artists such as Tierra Whack, Pharrell, Kendrick Lamar, Jessie Reyez, Childish Gambino, who plays Simba, and, of course, Jay-Z. But the featured artist that is getting the most hype is none other than Blue Ivy Carter. We got a taste of her rap skills on her dad’s 4:44 album and heard her sing on Beyoncé’s Homecoming, now we’ll hear her magic on the song “Brown Skin Girl”.
Along with the tracklist of The Lion King: The Gift, Beyoncé revealed that the music video for the single “Spirit” will be released via ABC at 8 pm EST on July 16th.
