Iggy Azalea Drops Her New Album ‘In My Defense’

Iggy Azalea initially rose to stardom in the music industry in 2014 with her smash hit “Fancy” featuring Charli XCX. She then released her debut album, “The New Classic”, which contained more hit tracks such as “Work” and “Black Widow”. With this instant success, Iggy scored a very loyal fan base. Five years later, Iggy is now an independent artist and after much anticipation, she has returned to the music scene with her latest sophomore album, In My Defense. This hip-hop album includes leading singles, such as “Sally Walker” and “Started”. This 12-track album also has features from Kash Doll, Stini, Juicy J, and Lil Yachty.

The album artwork showcases the Australian rapper propped up against the back end of a car with what appears to be blood. Iggy explains the inspiration for the album’s cover art by stating, “It’s a statement about women not having the ability to defend themselves under public gaze”. In My Defense was released on July 19, 2019 and it has already hit #6 on iTunes.
