Check Out First Trailer For ‘Little Women’
The first trailer for Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of Little Women has been released.
The film is based on Louisa May Alcott’s novel of the same name, originally published in 1868. The story follows the lives of sisters Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy March, who are loosely based on the author and her own sisters. Little Women follows the lives of the sisters as they enter womanhood in the United States during the 19th century.
Over the last 150 years, the novel has been adapted into multiple stage plays, films and television series, musicals and operas, and even an audio drama.
The cast for the 2019 movie includes Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan, Eliza Scanlen, and Florence Pugh as Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy, respectively. Aunt March will be portrayed by Meryl Streep, and the main love interest, Laurie, will be played by Timothée Chalamet.

This film will be Greta Gerwig’s second movie she’s directed after Oscar-nominated Lady Bird, released in 2017.
Gerwig’s new adaptation is expected to highlight the feminist aspects of the novel. The trailer concludes with an emotion-filled quote by Jo: “Women have minds and they have souls as well as just hearts. They’ve got ambition and they’ve got talent as well as just beauty.”
Little Women is set to be released in theaters on Dec. 25, 2019.
